Everything you need to know

An online vet consultation is a video call with a licensed veterinarian, so you can get expert advice about your pet's health from home instead of travelling to a clinic. With Omelo Vet, you book a slot, describe your pet's concern, and a VCI-registered vet reviews it and speaks with you over video. It suits non-emergency issues, second opinions and follow-up care. For anything needing a physical exam or hands-on treatment, the vet will guide you to an in-person clinic.

Yes. An online veterinary consultation is lawful in India when the person giving it is a veterinarian registered under the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984. The Act reserves veterinary practice to registered practitioners (sections 30(b) and 57(1)) and places no condition on the medium through which a registered practitioner gives advice. The Veterinary Council of India's Code of Ethics, 1992 contains no reference to remote or electronic consultation and imposes no physical-examination requirement. NITI Aayog observed in 2023 that India has no dedicated veterinary telemedicine framework, so there is no separate telemedicine licence, registration or approval to obtain. What makes an online vet consultation lawful in India is who gives it, not the medium. Every Omelo Vet consultation is with a veterinarian registered with a State Veterinary Council under that Act.

It takes three steps. You book a consultation and enter your mobile number and your pet's concern. A licensed, VCI-registered vet reviews the details and connects with you on a video call, usually within minutes. During the call you get clear advice and next steps, and a written summary afterwards. Omelo Vet is available across India, 24/7, from ₹349.

An Omelo Vet online consultation starts at ₹349 (early-bird price, regularly ₹499) for a 15-minute video consultation with a licensed vet. It is one flat fee with no subscription and no hidden charges, and it is considerably cheaper than a typical in-clinic visit in most Indian cities.

Omelo Vet is a web-based platform - no app download needed. You can access it from any browser on your phone, tablet, or computer.

Absolutely. Many pet owners come to us without an existing vet relationship. We provide expert advice and can help guide you to in-person care when needed.

We're faster, more affordable, and available 24/7. However, we complement rather than replace in-clinic care - physical exams, diagnostics, and procedures still require a physical visit.

All our vets are licensed, VCI-registered veterinary professionals with real clinical experience. Each one is verified and credentialed before joining Omelo Vet.

We cannot perform physical examinations, run lab tests, prescribe controlled medications, or handle emergencies. For anything urgent or requiring hands-on assessment, please visit your nearest clinic.

Yes. Our vets are available 24/7, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

For certain conditions our vets can guide you on appropriate medication and, where suitable, issue a prescription. Your vet will explain what's possible for your pet's situation during the consultation.

If our vet determines your pet needs in-person care, they will clearly advise you and can help you prioritise the urgency so you know how quickly to act.

Omelo Vet is available 24/7, so if something worries you at 2am you can reach a licensed vet within minutes and find out whether it's genuinely urgent. If your pet is in immediate danger - difficulty breathing, suspected poisoning, a seizure or severe injury - go straight to an emergency clinic, because online care can't replace hands-on emergency treatment. For everything in between, we help you decide how fast to act instead of leaving you guessing overnight.

We primarily support dogs and cats. Some of our vets also have experience with rabbits, birds, and small mammals - let us know your pet type when booking.
